Just some more sanding and filing. Also a little bit of filler to fill in any small pits.

The BMW 3 Series Decklid Spoiler is a big hassle. It has been constantly snowing/raining on days I am able to work on the spoiler. And when I get time to work on it... it gets ruined a few days later (given that there is clay). At times like these, I wish I had a garage to store and to work in.

Lastly, custom tail lights. I managed to purchase two tail lights and some parts from forum member Sezniko on Acurazine. $60 USD shipped for two tails and parts---I couldn't pass on such a deal. It's about 150? 250? for the 07-08 tail lights too! The clear tail lights, unfortunately is by Eagle Eyes. The fitment seems pretty bad. None to worry.

With the tail light modification also almost complete, I am sure there is no one out there with similar tail lights. I hope it will be that way for a while.

Also, since there are two tail lights... I hope to reassemble the other tail light and sell it. Then sell my stock tail lights. Hopefully will be able to make at least $100 USD for both tail lights.

The income is running low now... but I hope to carbon fiber wrap both the roof spoiler and the decklid spoiler. I also plan to purchase white LEDs for the rear turn signals to complete the look.

It's running late now.

Tomorrow, a quick post of various pictures of the TL for a quick glance through the process.

Then, after, pictures of the spoiler processes and pictures of the tail lights.

Gosh. I love the look of my tail lights so much already, I almost feel like not sharing them on Acurazine!

"UCM"/Splitter

I haven't updated in a while... wow.

Okay.

The splitter is sort of complete. Sort of.

The sides are fabricated and holes have been made to bolt up to the front A-Spec.

The lip and splitter have been on the vehicle for one month now and has held up rather well.

However, the left side seems to fall a little 'short'. The right (passenger) side seems to be at a perfect length. It seems that I will have to find a way to extend the left (driver) side out a bit.

I'm currently in the process of finishing it up. That is... filling in any gaps/holes. Once completed... It will hopefully be fully wrapped in Carbon Fibre for the look and for the durability/strength.

Next up today... I will hopefully attempt and finish the "UCM", dubbed by "Inaccurate" from Azine. The "UCM" or "Ultimate Cooling Mod" involves removal or modification to the hood-cowl. With this mod... ambient temperature in the engine bay should be reduced and help prevent heat-soak. (Which if anyone has ever witnessed, feels like you can cook an egg on the top of a hood!)

After the month of July... Mods are more then likely going to be slowing down as it is vacation time followed up with a new program at school.

Hopefully I will be able to get a rear Type-S A-Spec and begin fabricating my rear diffuser!

A-Spec Splitter PT1

Well,
Started working on this about two days ago and forgot to upload.
Finished work. Went straight home. Got home at 10:30 and worked on it for a bit.

Made some measurements...
The Mugen splitter was roughly 66" while the A-Spec was roughly 72" or something of that number [I forgot].
I aligned the centers together and made my adjustments.

From there I chopped off part of the sides of the splitter... and aligned things again.
At that point I realized that my roommate who had moved out took half my tools I left in the apartment. FML.
So... I called it a night and taped the lip and splitter together.
This was the result:

[iPhone G1 pics]

The next day I tried to figure out what to do with the side pieces of the Mugen splitter. I figured I was going to use it... but then after lining that up I realized it looked weird.

[iPhone G1 pics]

I suppose I'll just fabricate my own.

Sooo, today, I borrowed my friend's father's drill. Except my buddy is an idiot and didn't know what a drill bit is... he gave me a power-drill with a large metal-disc attached to it. So, went to the garage with him to find a proper drill bit. After scavanging around... we came across a drill bit about 30cm long. -facepalm-
Oh well, took it and used it. Better than nothing!

I attached the lip and the splitter together and took off the tape.

[N97 pics]

(Notice the huge drill-bit. Disregard my knives...)

And that's as far as I got so far... Next up is fabricating the side of the splitter to extend it... then adding the part that goes up [like the ARC splitters].

Don't know if it's just me... but the splitter looks a little odd at angles. I was at work... so it was understandable.
They stated that the next attempt would have been Friday from 14h00-17h00.

So, having no work till 17h00... I did the thing any other anxious person would. I waited... and periodically checked out the windows.
I was checking every 30 minutes from the time I woke up [11h00].
I was waiting on a ringing of the doorbell... or a knocking of the door. Nothing.
Nothing happened. So I periodically checked outside... *Where the hell is the UPS truck?!*. Nothing.
Till... I went outside to check once more. An infonotice? What the shit? You got to be shitting me...

They didn't bother knocking or ringing my doorbell... instead they stuck an infonotice on my door and called it a day? What the shit!?
I called customer service... and of course they couldn't really help. So I had them schedule for a pickup on Monday. I don't trust those bastards anymore!

I was hoping to get my front splitter on Friday... that way I could mess around with it on Sunday and Monday. Not it looks like it'll only be Monday, after I get it... after I spend 20 minutes to get to their location to pick it up. Fog

I've done this mod sometime back in November... but I have never written about it.
It is one of my favorite mods actually!

What I have done was deleted the DRL that was stock in Canadian vehicles and had it wired to the bi-xenons. The DRLs were then deleted and only turned on when the low/hi beam was on. This allowed for a much brighter output of light as well as a nice contrast to the HIDs.
The bulb that was being used was a Eurolite Yellow Halogen bulb, giving it that very distinct yellow look.
The major drawback to this mod was the amount of glare and "light-splatter" caused by having no cut-off shield for the halogen bulb. This resulted in a high vertical output of light... that potentially blinded other drivers. I know this is true because there were about three trucks who had flashed [and left on] their tailgater lights.

Thus I am now waiting to do a retrofit. I will have foglight projectors where the halogens used to be. This will give me the ability to have a brighter and wider output of light... making it a much more functional foglight.
The new light will most likely be paired up with an HID kit... most likely in a 3500k temperature. I will also hope to install an on/off switch making this a possibility for DRLs and fogs.. rather than just foglights [that are only on when my lows are on].

Once this is completed... my TL will be "Holy Bright Lights Batman!~" given its:
HID'd retrofitted lower-foglights
Philips 85122+ bi-xenons
HID'd retrofitted aux-foglights [in the headlight].

Eventually the sidemarkers will be changed for brighter LEDs and the side-blinkers will be changed for V2 Switchbacks.
Sweeeeeeetness.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://04komodo.blogspot.com/2009/12/drl-delete-to-aux-fog.html' title='DRL Delete to Aux. That idea went down the drain as soon as I made the first mock-up. Darn it was hard! Well, actually... it was only half of the mock-up. But still, it's hard! I should correct myself--it's more fustrating than hard.

So, after scrapping that idea... I decided to go ahead and purchase eBay 2oo4 Honda Accord 4door foglights. I'm going to be using the foglight housings... or what ever the black casing thing is called.
I've cut and cut away at the bumper along with the fog housings... I may have went trigger happy with the dremel, though. Hahah.
This project is quite common... But I've decided to be a little different from other Azine members.
Most members (if not all) have installed it so that the housing is recessed into the bumper...
I'm installing mines so that it sits just along the curvature of the bumper. The only downside to this is that it sticks out a little bit... which isn't a problem to me anyway. The plus side to this is that by installing it this way... it allows a more straight beam rather than a more angled one. I'm not sure how much more straight it made it... but it sure is noticeable!

Up next is to find a way to retrofit my JDM Subaru Legacy Projector Foglights into the Honda Accord foglights... Once that is done... it is all mounting from there. Oh, can't forget about wiring!
No pictures or images yet... I haven't documented any of the work via pictures yet.

I'm currently waiting on my HID kit from DDM-Tuning and as well as my toggle-switches for my 'custom DRL-Fog' mod. Oh, I've also ordered new lower-grilles that were pre-cut for the Accord fogs. I MAY have to recut it a bit... we shall see.
<img width='1' height='1'
